About Leiden English Theatre

Leiden English Theatre  is an English language theatre group. It was set up a little over 20 years ago in association with the English department at Leiden University. Its aim: to introduce freshman of Leiden University to the world of English theatre. Since that time LEF has come a very long way. We are no longer part of the English Department although we still welcome students from the English Department. LET is for students, graduates, and (young) working professionals. If you are interested in joining our theatre group, send us a message via facebook or email joinus.let@gmail.com.

On this website you can find information on everything to do with us and read updates about what we’re up to.

Over time we have evolved into a successful amateur theatre group, casting more experienced actors as well as complete beginners, and staging at least one English language play each year. Our aim is to create high quality plays while having fun.
Plays vary from the inevitable Shakespeare to Alice in Wonderland, The Great Gatsby and The Three Musketeers.

There is more to LET than just rehearsals. We often have a drink together afterwards, and regularly organize parties and potluck dinners. Every production also has a Rehearsal Weekend on location somewhere in the Netherlands. We also organise a few workshops both on acting and stage production.

You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram.

We are also available for hire to teach a workshop at your institution. If you are interested and would like to know more about availability and price please contact artdirector.let@gmail.com.

If you would like to have our group perform for you for a private gathering please contact artdirector.let@gmail.com for more information.
